About the Artist
Professional Body painter, Melissa Domogala (born Melissa Bertrand) graduated from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2005 with her BFA in Illustration and earned a certificate in Makeup artistry from Brio Academy of Cosmetology in 2008. While in art college, Melissa began face painting for parties to help fund her education in 2003. Her face painting was so popular, clients began requesting full body paintings, and Melissa immediately fell in love with using the body as a "canvas". Melissa's passion for body painting inspires her to constantly create new art, develop and refine her style.
Melissa considers her final print work to be a painting rather than a photograph. Once you see her work in person, you will understand why. The human body is an art form in itself, Melissa just brings out the beauty that is already there with her body paintings. Each painting is a celebration of life and the human figure; the perfect canvas.
Melissa Domogala currently resides in West Haven, Connecticut. She lives with her husband, Joseph and two dogs, Willow and Sophie.
